Camp Bosco, a summer camp for boys and girls aged 5-15, ran for three weeks in July in Copsewood. From as far away as Dooradoyle, Glin, Loughill, Foynes and Shanagolden, there were 120 children the first week, 130 the second, and 230 the last week.
The 40-strong camp staff included teachers and specially trained junior leaders from the school, and Salesian clerics Dominic and Paul from Vietnam. Among the attractions were arts & crafts, canoeing, trampoline, and a whole range of indoor and outdoor games suited to the different age groups. Sessions were held from 1pm to 5.15pm, Monday to Friday and cost €60 per week.
