Ghana Connection

The community of the Provincial house was host to the Provincial and Economer of the Anglophone West African Province, (AFW) Fr. George (Jorge) Cristafulli and Bro. Gunter Mayer. They arrived at Dublin airport on Wednesday 19th September and were met by Fr. Michael Casey who drove them to the McDermott Street community where they met up with Fr. Cyril Odia SDB from Nigeria recently arrived in Dublin to pursue a course of studies, and with the other members of the community which includes two other African Salesians from Ethiopia.

In the days following Fr. George and Bro. Gunter visited places of interest in the city of Dublin and met up with Fr. Sam Obu from Nigeria and Bro. Sean Feeney who recently made his first religious profession after completing his novitiate in Ghana, the headquarters of the West African Province. On Saturday 22nd September Fr. George, Bro.Gunter, Fr. Sam, Bro.Sean and Fr.Casey drove to Glendalough and visited other places of interest in the area. The visitors departed for Glasgow and eventually for the USA on Sunday 23rd September.
