New Parish Priest for the Milford Parish

Last Sunday,1st September 2013, at the 12pm mass Fr Robert Swinburne SDB was inducted as the new Parish Priest for the Milford Parish by Rev Dr. Brendan Leahy, Bishop of Limerick.

Bishop Leahy welcomed all who were present for the mass. He thanked Fr Swinburne for taking on new responsibilities as Parish Priest.

Bishop Leahy referred to the changes taking place in the organisation of the Church and Dioceses and asked everybody to embrace change. The Bishop also spoke about the need for change at a personnel level. The Holy Spirit is at work in all of us and wishes to bring us deeper into God’s love but we must be prepared to allow this to happen.

Bishop Leahy thanked the Salesians for the work they are doing in the Parish of Milford and in the Dioceses. He is delighted to have the Spirit of Don Bosco in Limerick.

After mass the Bishop mingled with parishioners and joined the Salesian Community for lunch.

The Provincial, Fr Michael Casey was unable to attend but he was represented by the vice-Provincial, Fr Koenraad van Gucht.
