October 4th, 2013
There were around 4000 young people gathered in Shrine of Our Lady of Knock on last Friday 4th October. That was the Gathering of Transition Year’s Students in Ireland. And that was the first time Transition Year’s students of Salesian College in Celbridge took part. There were about 20 students accompanied by two teachers and four Salesians. The Day started with the talks of those who have had experience of God in their life. Then we had lunch and chatting time. After that all of us gathered in front of the Basilica taking the journey with Jesus by the Stations of Cross. It was a little shower so some people did not finish but many others did. We came back to the Basilica to attend the Holy Mass at 3 pm, Archbishop Charles Brown was the main Celebrant. Before the mass finished, all people were asked to remain for Eucharistic adoration as the blessing of God for all young people, especially for those present in the Basilica.
That was a very good day for the young to meet God, to share with the others and to reflect on the relationship between them and God. The young people were reminded that they are not alone on the journey of their life but with them there is always God who is their Teacher, their Companion and their Friend.
