This is a very important leadership role in the school and a role which we promote, encourage and hold in high esteem and respect. We look forward to all our new leaders doing their very best, using their skills and talents to the benefit of the student body and ensuring our students are actively supporting an enjoyable school experience for all our students. We also thank and commend all the 5th years who applied. We acknowledge their enthusiasm and their willingness to get involved and it is a credit to them that they put themselves forward. I thank Ms. Moore and Ms. Dolan who are working with both teams this year. Our teams will begin their work with visits to our local primary schools and also working with the first year students on their trip to Lilliput Adventure Park this Thursday.

Sports Day & Annual Parents Association BBQ
Our Annual Sports Day will take place on Tuesday 12th May. This is a whole-school event and all students are expected to attend school as normal. I ask parents and guardians not to write notes to the school excusing your son from this event. By having a whole-school Sports Day it is our aim to promote fitness and participation in sporting and team events. This is extremely important to us as we endeavour to support and develop not only the academic progress and education of students but we also aim to ensure our students are given every opportunity to excel physically and in the sporting field. This event is also supported by our excellent Parents Association who organise each year a BBQ for our students. I thank all the members of the parents association for their work on this and every year we welcome and encourage parents to get involved and volunteer their time to help out at this event.

Extra-Curricular activities
We congratulate all our students who are taking part in our many extra-curricular activities in the school. Well done to the students who participated in the recent Annual Golf Tournament in Knockanally Golf Club, the West Leinster Schools Athletics and Track k and Field Competitions. I thank Mr.David Lopez, Mr. Manuel Lopez and Mr.Andres for organising the  2nd Year Futsal competition which starts this week.

Jackets and student belongings.
We remind students that is it their responsibility to ensure they bring home all their belongings, jackets, coats, bags, kit bags and so on every day. Each Friday we collect articles from around the school which students have not brought home with them. After two weeks these unclaimed articles will be donated to charity.

Preparations for 2015-2016 & Provisional Dates for Uniform sale.
Booklist and details on the opening school week will be published on the school web-site in June. Our incoming first year students will start on Thursday 27th August 2015. We thank members of the Parents Association who organize our uniform sale each year. The uniform sale is held in the new building at the back of the school. We do not have laser / credit card facilities at this sale. We would like to state quite clearly to all our senior students that the school uniform trousers are grey trousers, not black. We kindly ask that parents do not purchase black trousers for the TY, 5th and 6th year uniforms. We also remind parents that runners are not allowed and students are asked to wear polishable black uniform shoes. Date for uniform sale in June: Friday 19th June 6.30pm-7.30pm. Dates in August will be posted on the web-site once confirmed.

Junior and Leaving Certificate students
We remind parents that full attendance at school for all classes is expected. We also encourage all our students to ensure they are studying in a regular and productive manner and that they follow their teacher’s advice as to how best ensure the best results.

House Exams
Our end of year house exams will be commence on the last week of term beginning 25th May. It’s very important that all students devise a study plan and get revising to finish out the year as best they can. Getting good academic results don’t happen without putting in the required work. We hope all our students will work hard and that they will be happy with their end of year reports.
