Saying goodbye to the local community of Warrenstown

Goodbye_Warrenstown_community_06Yesterday evening, 27th June 2015 at Culmullen Church, the Salesians from Warrenstown, Co. Meath celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving with the local community. It was a wonderful occasion to say ‘thank you’ to parishioners and members of the local community and to those who have been involved in the life and work at the Salesian Agricultural and Horticultural College in Warrenstown.

The Mass was presided over by Fr P.J. Nyland SDB, who was joined by Fr Paddy Brewster SDB, Fr Des Riordan, and by Frs Joe Clavin P.P. and Colm Browne C.C. of Dunshaughlin-Culmullen Parish. The Salesian Brothers were represented in the persons of Bros. James O’Hare SDB and Pádraig McDonald SDB, who are very well known in the area.

During the Homily Fr P.J. Nyland thanked all the parishioners and past staff members for their contribution to Salesian College over the years.

Fr Colm Browne CC of the Dunshaughlin-Culmullen Parish then thanked the Salesians for their contribution to agricultural and horticultural education while in Warrenstown.

The celebration concluded with a Tree-planting ceremony. The tree will stand as a reminder of Salesian presence in the Parish. After this beautiful moment everyone retired to the local hall for a cup of tea, to meet and chat with parishioners and past members of the staff.
