Two of them have been assigned to Sri Lanka - Bartholomew Truong (30) and Joseph Vinh (29). Two have offered themselves for Project Europe - Joseph Hoan (28), youngest of the group, and Peter Duc (32). All four are students for the priesthood. Francis Tran Van Tien on the other hand is a Coadjutor Brother, who has spent four years working in the Salesian HQ’s Photographic Archive and is spending six months learning English before returning to work with poor youth in his native Vietnam.
Joseph Pham Xuan Hoan is from the Thong Nhat district of Dong Nai province. His family are farmers. He has two brothers and one sister. He began high school when he was 23. He loves football and spent five years as an aspirant in Ho Chi Minh City. He studied veterinary science, and began his prenovitiate in 2010 along with his three companions. He is due for Project Europe.
Joseph Nguyen Quang Vinh is from Trang Bom in the Dong Nai province and youngest of two sisters and two brothers. His father is a retired builder, his mother a doctor. He studied business English in college, and got to know the work and activities of the nearby Salesian House. He became an aspirant in 2005. He finds the Irish weather OK, the people friendly and hospitable. Best of all for him is the lie-in till 7 am, unlike the 5 am rising in Vietnam!

Peter Nguyen Minh Duc is from Vinh City, Nghe An province; he has one older sister and brother and two

He became an aspirant in Ho Chi Minh City in 2006 and began his prenovititate in 2010. His destination is Sri Lanka.

After studying philosophy he volunteered for the missions and was assigned to Project Europe. He finds life comfortable in Ireland, and good for his vocation.
