With this in mind the Salesians built a student hostel which continues to welcome third level students. Visit www.uldigs.ie

The House includes a Salesian Spirituality Centre and provides a university chaplain to UL, a chaplain to Milford Hospice, and a Home for the Elderly. In addition, the DeSales English Language Summer School is run from here.

Don Bosco Centre, Limerick

Don Bosco Centre, Milford, Limerick

The term ‘new evangelisation’ was introduced by Pope Paul VI and Pope John Paul 11, and was the theme for the Synod of Bishops, Rome, in 2012. Here, Pope Benedict highlighted the massive drop-off in Church attendance, in Europe, especially amongst people aged 16 to 25 years.

The Don Bosco Centre was built in response to the need for a greater emphasis on the evangelisation of young people. It focuses on offering a range of activities built around pre-evangelisation and evangelisation.
