Ireland and the Church in Ireland has seen many changes over the last 100 years, and each decade brings both fresh opportunities and challenges.

To embrace a new era of Church and Development work, we at the Salesians of Don Bosco Ireland have launched our own Planning and Development Office (PDO) –  operating under the name Don Bosco Aid (DBA).

The PDO is part of a wider network of similar offices across the Salesian Congregation worldwide, and is an expansion of the work of the Mission Office – an integral part of DBA.

Director of the Mission Office, Fr Dan Carroll, works with the DBA team of volunteers and professionals to ensure that funding and resources received are used to their greatest advantage, and directed where they are most needed. The DBA team also works with the Provincial and his Council to strategically plan the Salesian work with young people in Ireland.

Ireland and the Irish Salesian Province has had a long tradition of missionary and volunteering work at home and abroad. Thanks to the generosity and support of thousands of donors and benefactors over the past decades, Irish Salesians and Volunteers working alongside their international friends have been able to make a difference in the lives of young people and their families.
