“If you are putting your name on it, make sure you have put 111% into it.”

The spirit of creativity, sustainability, and youthful innovation took centre stage on the evening of 24 February 2026 as the Junk Kouture World Final 2025 dazzled audiences at The Helix. Beginning at 7:30 pm, the spectacular showcase celebrated circular fashion and student design excellence on a global platform.

A total of 56 finalists from six fashion capitals — Ireland, London, Paris, Milan, New York, and Dubai — presented extraordinary wearable designs created entirely from recycled and repurposed materials. The event highlighted the power of sustainability-driven creativity while spotlighting the next generation of designers.

Among the standout participants was Salesian College, Pallaskenry, which qualified for the finals and competed alongside nine other Irish teams. Their presence reflected Ireland’s strong tradition of artistic innovation and environmental awareness.

The event was led by Troy Armour, Founder and CEO of Junk Kouture, who has guided the initiative for the past 15 years. Under his leadership, Junk Kouture has grown from a national schools competition into a globally recognised celebration of sustainable design and creative thinking.

More than 17 awards were presented throughout the evening, recognising excellence in design, craftsmanship, storytelling, and sustainability.

A special congratulations goes to Salesian College, Pallaskenry, which achieved remarkable success by securing the two most prestigious honours of the night:

Dublin Designer of the Year

World Designer of the Year

These accolades reflect the dedication, innovation, and teamwork of the students, guided by Ms. Ann, their art teacher, whose leadership and mentorship played a vital role in their achievement. Appreciation is also extended to the many supporters and organisers who contributed to making this mega event a memorable celebration of creativity and circularity.

The Junk Kouture World Final continues to inspire young designers worldwide, proving that fashion can be both visionary and sustainable — and that when passion meets purpose, extraordinary things happen.
