From Sunday 14th to Friday 19th June 2026, the Salesian Province, Ireland, came alive at the Salesian community in the University of Limerick for its annual provincial retreat, a week marked by reflection, fraternity, and renewed purpose. Led by Fr Hugh Lagan SMA, the gathering drew confreres from every corner of the province, creating a rich atmosphere of shared experience and brotherhood.

With the compelling theme,“The Second Half of Life – moving from success to significance,”the retreat invited participants to go deeper, beyond achievements and into the heart of their vocation. It was less about what has been done, and more about what truly matters moving forward.

Fr Lagan challenged each confrere to embrace a life of authenticity, to invest in meaningful relationships, to find a healthy balance between personal and community life, and above all, to live with joy and intention. His message was clear and stirring: choose life, fully and deliberately, and let that choice shape the future of our province.
