The relic of Don Bosco came on pilgrimage to our shores in February 2013. That pilgrimage was our first step towards celebrating the 200th anniversary of Don Bosco’s birth on 16 August 1815.

Over the past few year, we have taken various steps towards that celebration, with the hope we will become more like Don Bosco – witnesses to young people of the bottomless riches of God’s love for each of us, revealed in God’s own time in the coming of his only Son, Jesus Christ.

Salesians Ireland Don Bosco teamNow we have arrived to the year 2019 during which we celebrate 100 years of the Salesian presence in Ireland. It has been a very beautiful year of events and occasions to celebrate. But also to see our story.

But the celebration is not finished, as we try to treasure the heritage passed on to us in Don Bosco’s life, his preventive system and his fun-loving spirituality, we are looking into the future.

As our Centenary motto guide us: “Celebrate the past – Create the Future”
